
The Kalamazoo Wings have announced that they’ve signed forward Peyton Hoyt for the 2025-26 season and invited forward Nick Cafarelli to training camp on a tryout contract. With the addition of the two forwards, the K-Wings now have six forwards and 10 players on their preseason roster.
Peyton Hoyt
Hoyt, 26, made his ECHL debut last season, putting up one assist in eight games with the Toledo Walleye. Prior to joining the Walleye, Hoyt played four seasons in USports with Acadia University. In 88 games with the Axmen, Hoyt put up 27 goals and 26 assists for 53 points. He would add four goals and three assists for seven points in 12 USports playoff games. Hoyt was named team captain in his final year with the Axemen, and he also earned the 2025 Randy Dean Farris Memorial Award. The Randy Dean Ferris Memorial Award is given to an Acadia Player who demonstrates leadership, competitive spirit, community engagement, and maintains a good academic standing.
“I’m very grateful and excited to get started with the Wings this year,” Hoyt said. “I’ve heard great things through past players about how supportive the fan base and the city are towards this team.”

The Lincoln, New Brunswick, native began his career in juniors, spending five seasons in the QMJHL. Hoyt spent three of his five seasons in the QMJHL with the Cape Brenton Screaming Eagles. In 149 games with the Screaming Eagles, he put up 33 goals and 29 assists for 62 points. He would add a goal and two assists for three points in 29 QMJHL playoff games with the Eagles. Hoyt would spend his final two seasons in the QMJHL with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and Val-d’Or Foreurs. In five years in the QMJHL, he put up 71 goals and 53 assists for 124 points in 249 games. He would add two goals and four assists for six points in 36 career QMJHL playoff games.
Nick Carafelli

Carafelli, 23, made his ECHL debut on March 8th with the Reading Royals, marking his only ECHL game of the 2024-25 season. He began the 2024-25 season in the NCAA with RIT, where he put up one goal and seven assists for eight points in 33 games in his final year of eligibility. He spent his first four seasons in the NCAA with the University of New Hampshire. Carafelli put up 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 80 games with the Wildcats. Prior to taking the NCAA route, the Middletown, Massachusetts, native spent one season in the BCHL with the Wenatchee Wild. In 42 games with the Wild, he put up 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points.
