Forward Kameron Kielly is heading back overseas after spending the first four years of his pro career in the ECHL, playing with the Allen Americans, Indy Fuel, Atlanta Gladiators, Toledo Walleye, and South Carolina Stingrays. There, he put up 36 goals and 55 assists for 91 points in 153 regular-season games. Kielly also spent two games with the Belleville Senators of the AHL during the 2022-23 season but couldn’t find the scoresheet. The 27-year-old played one game with the Sheffield Steelers at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.
Prior to going pro, Kielly spent five seasons in the QMJHL with the Gatineau Olympiques and Charlottetown Islanders, where he put up 77 goals and 125 assists for 202 points in 306 games; he would wear an “A” in the final three seasons with the Islanders. The Prince Edward Island native would then spend three years at the University Of Prince Edward Island, where he put up 45 goals and 82 assists for 127 points in 90 games. He would make the All-Rookie Team in his first season with the Panthers and would be named to the Second All-Star Team in each of the following two seasons. Kielly led the Islanders in points all three seasons he was there.
Kielly is the sixth player who played in the ECHL last season to join the Stars this off-season, joining Xavier Pouliot, Brett Gravelle, Keanu Yamamoto, Zach Tsekos, and Brogan O’Brien. He is the fourth player from Allen who has opted to head overseas since the season ended.
