Junior and Collegiate Career

Kyle Pow spent his junior career playing in the BCHL, AJHL, and WHL. In the BCHL, he split his time between the Powell River Kings and Trail Smoke Eaters. Pow played in 41 BCHL games, where he had four assists with 102 penalty minutes. Pow played in 17 games in the AJHL with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, where he registered two goals and one assist with 95 penalty minutes. While playing in the WHL, Pow played with the Kelowna Rockets and Winnipeg Ice. Pow played in 41 WHL games, where he had three assists with 53 penalty minutes and a -2.

The Nanaimo, British Columbia native then went on to play USports at Mount Royal University. In two seasons, Pow played in four games where he had 14 penalty minutes.

Professional Career

After two collegiate seasons, Pow decided to go overseas to start his professional career in Great Britain. Pow started playing with the Whitley Warriors in the NIHL 1. In 20 games, he registered four goals and two assists with 47 penalty minutes. Pow then finished the 2023-24 season in the NIHL with the Bristol Pitbulls, where he had 29 penalty minutes in 14 games.

Pow then came back to North America for the 2024-25 season. He signed with the ECHL with the Utah Grizzlies, where he had 27 penalty minutes in three games. Pow then spent six games in the SPHL with the Birmingham Bulls, registering one assist with 19 penalty minutes and a -4. Pow finished the 2024-25 season in the FPHL with the Athens Rock Lobsters. He played in 15 games, where he had one assist with 53 penalty minutes and a +1.

Kyle Pow is a defensive defenseman who could have a major impact on the Mavericks. Not only does Pow give the Mavericks some size, but he also is not afraid to play a more physical game. Pow is able to lay good hits and can also drop the gloves to help his team when needed.
