The Florida Everblades have re-signed defenseman Kurtis Henry for the 2025–26 season. After a brief but promising stint late last year, Henry is set to begin his first full professional season in Florida.

Late-Season Addition Makes His Mark

Henry joined the Everblades late in the 2024–25 campaign following the conclusion of his collegiate career at the University of Prince Edward Island. He appeared in 10 regular-season games, recording two assists, nine penalty minutes, and a +1 rating. Though his time on the roster was limited, his physical style and poise under pressure made a strong early impression.

Collegiate Career at UPEI

Prior to turning pro, Henry played four seasons at UPEI, where he established himself as a reliable two-way defenseman with a strong physical edge. In his final year (2024–25), he posted a career-best 26 points (3G, 23A) in 27 games, along with 100 penalty minutes, leading the team in both assists and PIM.

Across his USports career, Henry totaled 73 points (13G, 60A) in 106 games, along with 266 penalty minutes—a clear reflection of his gritty, high-impact presence on the back end.

Opening Night on the Road

Henry and the Everblades will open the 2025–26 season on the road as they take on the Orlando Solar Bears on Friday, October 17 at the Kia Center in Orlando.
