ECHL: Kyle Bollers Heads Overseas

Cincinnati Cyclones forward Kyle Bollers is heading overseas to Germany to join the Onesto Bayreuth Tigers of the Germany3 league. In his rookie year with the Cyclones, Bollers put up 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 59 games. Bollers had one assist in eight games with the Cyclones at the end of the 2023-24 season. He is the first player from the Cyclones to take the overseas route this Summer. There is at least one more Cyclone who is rumoured to be taking the overseas route.

Prior to going pro, Kyle Bollers spent time in the OJHL, OHL, and USports. Bollers began his junior career in the OHL, where he spent two seasons with the Saginaw Spirit, putting up nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 119 games. The Oshawa, Ontario native also saw time with his hometown team during the 2018-19 season, putting up one goal and eight assists in 49 games. Bollers also spent two seasons in the OJHL with the Aurora Tigers and Brantford 49ers. During his time with Aurora, he had seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points in 19 games. His best season in the OJHL came in 2019-20 with the 49ers. In 52 games, Bollers would put up 39 goals and 47 assists for 86 points in 52 games. He led the league in goals and points and was named to the OJHL First All-Star Team.

Bollers would spend the next three years at Ryerson College/Toronto Metropolitan University. In his four years in USports, he would put up 43 goals and 54 assists for 97 points. In his rookie year, he had 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 15 games. Those numbers would win him the OUA West Rookie of the Year Award. He won back-to-back Randy Gregg Awards for most Outstanding Student-Athlete in 2022 and 2023. Bollers would also be named to the OUA West First All-Star Team in each of his three years in USports.
