Yesterday, the Florida Everblades named Kyle Mountain as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season, adding a rising voice with both college and ECHL bench experience.
Mountain, 34, joins Florida after working with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last season, first as an assistant coach, then stepping in as interim head coach. He was part of the staff that helped guide Greenville to the best regular-season record in the South Division in 2023-24, just one year after finishing near the bottom.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Everblades family,” Mountain said. “I’m eager to work alongside our players, coaches, and front office staff to continue the history of excellence the Everblades have built in Estero” (Florida Everblades, 2025).
Before making the jump to the pros, Mountain led Neumann University’s NCAA Division III program from 2017 to 2023. He originally joined the team as an assistant coach in 2015 before taking over the head job two years later.
“Kyle comes to the Everblades with experience as an assistant coach and a head coach at the ECHL level,” said Head Coach Brad Ralph. “He’s detailed, hardworking, and eager to continue his growth as a coach to help the Everblades win another championship” (Florida Everblades, 2025).
Mountain also played college hockey himself, skating in 60 games across three seasons with the University of Vermont and University of Nebraska-Omaha, recording seven points.
The Everblades have dominated the ECHL postseason recently, winning 14 straight playoff series and lifting the Kelly Cup in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
