
The Wheeling Nailers have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Logan Pietila for the 2025-26 season. Pietila, 25, is coming off his first full professional season, where he put up nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points in 69 games while also seeing action in two Kelly Cup Playoff games. He had a strong end to the season, putting up a point in ten of his final 11 regular-season games. He also had one assist in five games at the AHL level with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Logan also got the opportunity to play alongside his brother Chase, who made his professional debut at the end of last season, playing with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Wheeling. He is the eighth forward and 10th player signed by Wheeling for the 2025-26 season.
Prior to going pro, Pietila spent two years in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He would put up 18 goals and 37 assists for 55 points in 117 games. During his first season with the Saints, Pietila finished the year with no penalty minutes. In 11 playoff games, he had two goals and two assists for four points. The Howell, Michigan, native then took the NCAA route, spending five years at Michigan Tech. In 180 games with the Spartans, he put up 45 goals and 53 assists for 98 points. He would wear a letter in his last two seasons at Michigan Tech, including being named the captain for his final season. Pietila made his professional debut at the end of the 2023-24 playing three games with the Baby Penguins.
