Lucas Feuk has officially signed to play back home in Sweden for the 2023-24 season. He will be playing with the Hudiksvalls HC of HockeyEttan in Hudiksvall, Sweden.

Feuk joins Hudiksvalls HC after spending the 2022-23 season on a one-year, two-way contract with the Rapid City Rush and Calgary Wranglers. He ended up playing with the Rush for the entire 2022-23 season. The 2022-23 season was Feuk’s first season outside of Sweden.

Feuk played in 45 games for the Rapid City Rush, where he had three goals and nine assists for 12 points. He had 20 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -9.

While Feuk’s stats may not show it, he was a pretty good player for being a fourth-line and extra guy, but he had some of the worst luck when it came to scoring goals. There were many times when Feuk would have an open net to score on, and the goalie would be able to get over to stop him, or another guy would get in the way.

I think playing back in Sweden may benefit Feuk more, as play in Sweden is not as physical as it is in North America, specifically the ECHL. Feuk is not a very physical player, which puts him at a bit of a disadvantage. Playing in Sweden may help Feuk as he will be able to play more his style and will not have to worry as much about the physicality side of it.

Feuk was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the 2019 NHL Draft, where he was picked in the fourth round at 116 overall.
