The Kansas City Mavericks have announced that they have re-signed 6’1″ forward Luke Loheit for the 2025-26 season. With the signing of Loheit, the Mavericks now have nine forwards and 14 players signed for the 2025-26 season.

Junior and Collegiate Career

Luke Loheit only spent one season playing juniors, in which he spent the season in the BCHL with the Penticton Vees. In 43 games, Loheit registered eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points with 53 penalty minutes.

The Minnetonka, Minnesota native then returned to Minnesota to start his collegiate career playing at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Loheit served as an alternate captain for the Bulldogs in his senior season before captaining the team in his fifth year. In the 2021-22 season, Loheit and the Bulldogs won the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship.

Professional Career

After completing his collegiate career, Loheit signed with the ECHL’s Kansas City Mavericks for the 2024-25 season. In 64 games, Loheit registered 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points with 45 penalty minutes and a +5. He had two goals and two assists with six penalty minutes and a +6 in 15 playoff games.

Luke Loheit is a skilled forward who has really started to find his offensive game with the Mavericks this past season. When on the ice, Loheit knows how to find openings and how to get himself open to score. Loheit is going into his second season and still has room to grow, which could make him even more of a lethal player for the Mavericks.
