The Maine Mariners have announced their leadership group to begin the 2024-25 season as Sebastian Vidmar, Wyllum Deveaux, and Carter Johnson will all wear a letter to begin the season for the Mariners. Head Coach Terrence Wallin mentioned earlier that the team didn’t plan on naming a captain to begin the season.
Sebastian Vidmar—The 30-year-old forward is entering his fourth year in the league, as he’s scored 55 goals and added 78 assists for 133 points in 210 career games. This is a solid choice for the Mariners, as Vidmar is expected to be a big piece of the Mariners’ offense after he put up three goals and five assists for eight points in 12 games after being acquired from the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
Wyllum Deveaux—The 24-year-old forward is entering his second full season in the league after scoring 13 goals and adding 11 assists for 24 points in 46 games last season with Maine. He added a goal in seven games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Sackville, Nova Scotia native last wore a letter in the USHL during the 2017-18 season with the Tri-City Storm.
Carter Johnson- The 29-year-old winger gets a letter in his second stint with Maine after he put up four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 14 games during the 2022-23 season and would put up three goals and two assists for five points in six games during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Johnson spent last year playing overseas with the Dundee Stars, putting up 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 54 games.
