The Maine Mariners have fortified their lineup for the upcoming 2025–26 ECHL season, re-signing defenseman Tristan Thompson and forward Jackson Stewart. Maine now has a goaltender, two defensemen, and seven forwards signed for the 2025-26 season.
Tristan Thompson

Thompson returns to the Mariners after joining the team mid-season, after starting the season overseas. In the 2024–25 season, he began overseas, scoring 13 points in 22 games for Chamonix in France’s Ligue Magnus, before agreeing to terms with the Mariners on January 1, 2025.
He made his professional debut in the 2021–22 season with the Rapid City Rush after completing a four-year collegiate career at the University of Alaska‑Fairbanks. He played in 136 games and posted 51 points. Thompson continued his ECHL journey through stops with the Savannah Ghost Pirates and Adirondack Thunder. He played 158 ECHL games and tallied 17 goals and 70 assists.
Jackson Stewart

Jackson Stewart began his professional career in the 2024–25 season with the Bloomington Bison after an OHL career split between the Kingston Frontenacs and Owen Sound Attack. Across 174 OHL games, Stewart recorded 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) and a staggering 299 penalty minutes.
Although he didn’t record a point in his 17 games with the Bison, Stewart earned 27 penalty minutes, including three fighting majors, showing he’s willing to bring intensity to the pro level.
In retaining Thompson, the Mariners secure a smooth-skating, offensively capable blueliner with international experience and proven ECHL production. Meanwhile, Stewart brings hard-hitting youth, a family legacy in the league, and the willingness to mix it up physically. Together, they bolster both strategic and physical dimensions of the roster as Maine prepares for training camp and the season ahead.
