The Maine Mariners have announced that they have signed forward Carter Johnson to a contract for the 2024-25 season. The 28-year-old previously played in 14 games with the Mariners at the end of the 2022-23 season, where he put up four goals and nine assists for 13 points; he would add three goals and two assists for five points in six games during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs, including a hat-trick in Game 2 vs Reading Royals. Johnson spent the 2023-24 season overseas in the UK with the Dundee Stars, putting up 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 54 games. This is a strong signing for the Mariners as they add another body up the middle and someone who has shown that they can contribute to the Mariners lineup.
“I love the organization as a whole,” said Johnson about to his return to the Mariners. “The city, the fans, everything about it made my decision easy and I’m excited to be back.”
