
The Maine Mariners have announced that they’ve signed forward Mason Primeau for the 2025-26 season. Primeau, 24, joins Maine after putting up 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points in 37 games with the Reading Royals. In four games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs, he had three goals. He also played one game in the AHL last season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. For the Mariners, they get a 6’5 forward up the middle who should see big minutes next season with the Mariners. Maine now has nine forwards and 13 players signed for the 2025-26 season.
The former fifth-round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights in 2019 is heading into his sixth professional season. A majority of his career has come at the AHL level with the Henderson Silver Knights. In 133 games with Henderson, he’s put up 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. Primeau has played in 55 games in the ECHL, spending time with the Fort Wayne Komets, Savannah Ghost Pirates, and Reading Royals, where he’s put up 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 points.
Prior to going pro, the Owen Sound, Ontario native spent three seasons in the OHL. He began his OHL career with the Guelph Storm, where he recorded 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points in 80 games. Primeau would have two assists in six OHL playoff games as a member of the Storm. During the 2018-19 season, he would be traded to the North Bay Battalion, where he would finish his junior career. In 94 games with North Bay, Primeau would put up 21 goals and 24 assists for 45 points. He would add a goal and two assists for three points in five OHL playoff games with the Battalion.
