The Maine Mariners announced the addition of three players to their 2025-26 roster today. This brings the total number of signed players to six. Forwards Robert Cronin and Linus Hemström will return to the lineup, while defenseman Jaxon Bellamy becomes the first new face to join the team this offseason.

Robert Cronin

Cronin’s hockey career began at Frederick Gunn School, where he contributed 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists) in his rookie season and earned All-New England West honors.

From there, Cronin advanced to the USHL, spending two seasons with the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He led the team in scoring during the 2020–21 season, finishing his USHL career with 61 points in 92 games.

He then moved to the NCAA, playing for the University of New Hampshire, and played four years with the Wildcats.

Over 129 NCAA games, he totaled 61 points (29 goals, 32 assists), with his production peaking during his senior season. That year, he led the team with 17 goals and added 11 assists in 35 games,

On March 17, 2025, Cronin signed his first professional contract with the Mariners. He made his debut just days later, on March 21, and quickly made an impact by scoring five goals and adding three assists in 13 games to close out the regular season.

Following his strong start, Cronin was retained on the Mariners’ protected list heading into the 2025–26 season, signaling the organization’s interest in his continued development and potential future contributions.

Linus Hemström

Linus Hemström honed his early skills playing in the Brynäs IF youth system before transitioning to North America in 2022.

Selected in the 2022 CHL Import Draft, he joined the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL.

In his 2022–23 rookie season, Hemström played all 68 games, recording 12 goals and 28 assists for 40 points. His second year in Kingston was even more productive. He brought in 23 goals and 30 assists over 61 games, finishing the season with 53 points, ranking among the team’s top scorers . Over his two-season OHL tenure, Hemström collected a total of 93 points in 129 games.

Hemström also gained international experience representing Sweden. He was a gold medalist at the 2022 IIHF World U18 Championships and competed at U20 levels.

Hemström began his professional career in the ECHL last year. The Bloomington Bison signed him that fall. On February 11, 2025, the Mariners acquired him from Bloomington via a future considerations trade.

In 24 games with Maine, Hemström added 2 goals and 5 assists, finishing his first ECHL season with a total of 14 points in 55 games across both teams.

Jaxon Bellamy

Jaxon Bellamy is a 6’3″ left‑shooting defenseman who rose through the ranks of Canadian junior hockey before transitioning to the university and professional levels. Bellamy was selected 16th overall in the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Moncton Wildcats.

Bellamy’s QMJHL career spanned five seasons. In his initial stint with the Wildcats, he played 24 games before being traded to Sherbrooke in early 2018 for draft picks.

During his time with the Phoenix, Bellamy developed into a leader, wearing an “A” and tallying 49 points over 156 games.

Later, he would join the Acadie‑Bathurst Titan, where his offensive production increased in a top‑pairing role. Bellamy ultimately returned to Moncton in December 2021 to conclude his junior career, finishing QMJHL play with approximately 84 points in 225 games.

Following his time in the Q, Bellamy moved to USports and played for Saint Mary’s University. He played for the Huskies for three years, ending with 16 goals and 31 assists across his collegiate career.

Cronin, Hemström, and Bellamy join returning captains Wyllum Deveaux, Sebastian Vidmar, and Justin Bean as the first six players named to the Mariners’ 2025-26 roster.
