The Maine Mariners roster, yet again, has been moved around, as forward Curtis Hall and defenseman Ethan Ritchie have been sent down to the Mariners from the Providence Bruins of the AHL, and Alex Kile has been called up to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL.
Curtis Hall was called up to Providence only one week ago, and Ethan Ritchie spent even less time in Providence during this call-up, only being there for four days. In both of these short stints with the P Bruins, it seems that neither player was utilized in any of the games that occurred while they were there.
Alex Kile was last called up to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms about a month ago on January 29th, and he returned to Maine on February 6th. He leads Maine in points with 28 goals and 31 assists in 48 games. This past weekend, Kile had two assists against the Toledo Walleye on Friday, two goals and one assist against the Walleye on Saturday, and two assists against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Sunday. Kile consistently proves his skill with the Mariners, and the lack of his presence is noticeable any time he is called up. Because of this consistency, he deserves his spot on an AHL team.
The Mariners next games are on the road against the Norfolk Admirals on March 1st and 2nd. The Admirals were recently in Maine for a three-game weekend from February 16th to February 18th, where the Mariners were only able to win one out of the three games, all of which were quite physical. Hall and Ritchie will be back with Maine for these next games, while the team will be without Kile.
