Forward Mark Rassell is heading overseas to Austria after spending the past two-plus seasons in the ECHL. Prior to going pro, The Calgary native spent four seasons in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers, where he put up 103 goals and 78 assists for 181 points in 274 games and would be the captain of the Tigers in his final season with the team. Rassell would then play three seasons in USports with the University of New Brunswick, putting up impressive numbers in all three seasons, finishing with 33 goals and 40 assists for 73 points in 72 games; the Reds would win the University Cup in 2019. The 27-year-old began his ECHL career with the Fort Wayne Komets as he would play in two games with the team at the end of the 2021-22 season, putting up one goal and one assist for two points in two regular season games and would add four goals and two assists for six points in six games during the 2022 Kelly Cup Finals. The following season, he would put up 21 goals, and 29 assists for 50 points in 68 games while adding a goal and three assists for four points during the Kelly Cup Playoffs; he would also spend one game in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors.

Rassell signed with the Idaho Steelheads for the 2023-24 season. He played in 43 games with the Steelheads during the regular season, scoring 32 goals and 16 assists for 48 points; those 32 goals led the Steelheads. He would add five goals and six assists for 11 points in 10 Kelly Cup Cup Playoff Games. He would also be the Steelheads representative in Savannah for the ECHL All-Star Classic. Rassell would spend 21 games in the AHL during the 2023-24 season with the Texas Stars and Calgary Wranglers, putting up six goals and one assists for seven points. For the Steelheads, this is another massive loss as Rassell becomes the fourth player from Idaho heading overseas, joining Wade Murphy, Cody Haiskanen, and Joe Gatenby. Idaho will have some work to do this off-season to replace three big pieces from last season.
