ECHL: Mason Klee Heads Overseas

Worcester Railers defenseman Mason Klee is heading overseas to Denmark to join the Odense Bulldogs after finishing his first full season in the ECHL. Klee played in all 72 games last season with Worcester, putting up seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points. Klee and Connor Welsh were the only two Railers to play in all 72 games last season. At the end of the 2023-24 season, Klee would pick up one assist in five games with the Railers. He also saw six games at the AHL level with the San Jose Barracuda, where he’d pick up his first career goal. He becomes the third player from Worcester to head overseas, joining Matthew Kopperud and Griffin Luce. Klee will likely be playing against Kopperud as he has also headed to Denmark, joining SønderjyskE.

Prior to going pro, the 25-year-old forward spent parts of two seasons in the USHL with the Lincoln Stars and Sioux Falls Stampede. He would put up four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in 118 games. In his first season in the league, he would be named to the USHL All-Rookie Second Team. The following season, he would win a Clark Cup Championship with the Stampede. He would add three assists in 19 Clark Cup Playoff games. Mason Klee would then play four years at the NCAA level, with his first three years coming at RPI. In 88 games with the Engineers, he recorded four goals and 12 assists for 16 points. Klee would spend his final year of eligibility at Ohio State University, where he had one goal and four assists for five points in 38 games.
