
Cincinnati Cyclones forward Mathieu Gosselin is heading overseas to England to join the Guildford Flames of the EIHL. He is the second ECHLer to sign with Guildford this offseason, joining Maine Mariners forward Josh Nixon. The 26-year-old winger just finished his first professional season as he put up 18 goals and 31 assists for 49 points in 69 games with the Cyclones. He ended the 2024-25 season strong, putting up five goals and six assists for 11 points in the final seven games. Gosselin also saw one game of AHL action with the Toronto Marlies. He spent the 2024-25 season on an AHL deal. He becomes the third member of the Cyclones to head overseas this offseason, joining Pavel Cajan and Kyle Bollers. Gosselin will also see former teammate Jack Jacome from Clarkson, as he’s re-joining the Flames for his second season with the team.
Prior to going pro, Gosselin spent two seasons in the BCHL with the Merritt Centennials. He put up 33 goals and 60 assists for 93 points. Mathieu Gosselin would add a goal and two assists for three points in nine BCHL playoff games. The Quebec native would head to the United States to play five years of college hockey at Clarkson University. In his five years with the Golden Knights, he put 44 goals and 73 assists for 117 points in 160 games. Gosselin was named to the ECAC First All-Star Team in 2022, and he was then named to the ECAC Third All-Star Team in 2023 and 2024. He began his pro career at the end of the 2023-24 season, playing in nine games for the Newfoundland Growlers.
