Michael Bullion came in clutch over the weekend in the series match-up against the Rapid City Rush. When series starter Jesper Vikman was called up to Henderson Silver Knights after the first game of the series, Bullion stepped in and didn’t miss a beat. Bullion had 33 saves on Friday and 40 saves on Saturday, showing he can handle any change that is thrown his way.
Bullion, a 26-year-old Alaska native, started playing hockey as a young boy, playing with Malvern Prep when he was 14 and continuing all the way up to Toronto Jr. Canadians when he aged out at 18.
He then joined the WHL in 2015 and played for the Portland Winter Hawks and the Medicine Hat Tigers, completing 89 career games with six shutouts and a save percentage of .892.
In 2018, he joined the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, completing 36 collegiate games, maintaining a save percentage of .892 and goals against an average of 3.27. He was drafted to the Norfolk Admirals in 2022, ending nine games with them, before setting up with Savannah Ghost Pirates in the 2022-2023 season.
In his ECHL career, Michael has played 70 games with four shutouts, a save percentage of .898, and a goals-against average of 3.28. He has a record of 12-9-3 this season alone, with two shutouts for the Ghost Pirates.
Michael has continued to show that he has what it takes to be in the crease at every game and is a tendy that we can all get behind. Michael will make his next start against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Thursday March 7th.
