
Indy Fuel forward Nathan Burke is heading overseas to Austria to join Pioneers Voralberg in the ICEHL. In 64 games last season, he had 22 goals and 17 assists for 39 points in 62 games. His 22 goals would lead the team; however, he failed to find the scoresheet during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The 26-year-old forward becomes the third player from Indy this week to head overseas, and the fourth since the season ended. Prior to joining the Fuel, Nathan Burke spent time with the Orlando Solar Bears and Utah Grizzlies, as he’s put up 40 goals and 39 assists for 79 points in 132 ECHL games. Burke has put up three goals and two assists for five points in 11 games of AHL action with the San Jose Barracuda and Ontario Reign.
Prior to going pro, the Scottsdale, Arizona, native spent parts of two seasons in the NAHL with the Aberdeen Wings, where he put up 34 goals and 25 assists for 59 points in 65 games. He would lead the league with 32 goals during the 2017-18 season. Burke would then take the NCAA route, spending his first three years at the University of Minnesota before spending his last two years of eligibility at Bowling Green University. In 84 games with the Golden Gophers, he would put up 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points. During his time at Bowling Green, he would put up 33 goals and 19 assists for 52 points in 73 games. In his first year with the Falcons, he would lead the team in goals (16).
