The Jacksonville Icemen have acquired forward Nathan Dunkley from the Kansas City Mavericks in exchange for future considerations, adding a proven scorer with international and collegiate experience to their 2025–26 roster.
A Proven Scoring Touch
Dunkley, 25, split last season between Saint Mary’s University (USports) and Kansas City. With the Huskies, he posted 18 goals and 15 assists for 33 points in 26 games, followed by nine points in seven playoff appearances. His offensive touch carried into his ECHL stint with Kansas City, where he tallied 12 points (7G, 5A) in 15 games before adding four more in the postseason. He also showcased his playmaking ability overseas with the Melbourne Mustangs (AIHL), notching 24 points in just 12 games.
Building a Diverse Resume
The Campbellford, Ontario native brings a wide-ranging background to Jacksonville. His career includes time in USports with Saint Mary’s University, the OHL with Kingston Frontenacs and London Knights, Sweden’s HockeyEttan with Hudiksvalls HC and Wings HC Arlanda, Australia’s AIHL, and the ECHL with Kansas City. Each stop has added a layer of versatility to his game, whether it’s top-line scoring or grinding in key situations.
Junior and Early Career Highlights
Dunkley first made a name for himself in the OHL, where he played four seasons between Kingston and London. His best year came in 2018–19 with the Knights, when he put up 23 goals and 30 assists in 67 games. Across his OHL career, he appeared in 258 regular-season and playoff games, recording 161 points.
What He Brings to Jacksonville
At 5’11” and 192 pounds, Dunkley is a skilled two-way center with a left-handed shot and a knack for producing in big moments. His recent surge in scoring at Saint Mary’s and Kansas City demonstrates both consistency and upside, making him a key depth addition as Jacksonville prepares for another competitive season.
