ECHL: Newfoundland Growlers Sign Sarnia Sting Forward

Today, the Newfoundland Growlers announced that they have signed forward Marko Sikic to a Standard Player Contract for the rest of this season.

Marko Sikic just finished his CHL career after 4 seasons in the OHL, most recently with the Sarnia Sting. The 21-year-old, 6’3” centre, weighs 183 pounds and scored 57 points in 66 games this season. With the Growlers pushing toward a playoff spot but also thinking toward the future, adding a 21-year-old forward to the mix has potential. Sikic will look to immediately help contribute in the ECHL and, with success, could find himself with a contract for next season or maybe even an AHL contract.

Sikic will also be joining some familiar faces within the organization as both Nolan Dillingham and Ty Voit played with him on the Sting. Sikic will need to wait a bit before playing with those two again, though, as Voit is done for the season due to injury, and Dillingham was placed on IR today.
