Earlier today, the Savannah Ghost Pirates announced the re-signing of forward Nick Granowicz for the 2025–26 season. After a breakout rookie campaign that saw him skate in all 72 games, Granowicz is back with eyes on helping Savannah push toward postseason success.

Reliable and Relentless

In his first full professional season, Granowicz recorded 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points and was one of the most dependable players on the roster, appearing in every game. Two of his goals came while shorthanded, tying him for the team lead in shorthanded goals for the season.

Granowicz’s all-situations utility made a strong impression on Head Coach Jared Staal, who praised his versatility and system fit:

“He’s a utility knife for me; he can play up and down the lineup wherever you need him. He fits the system very well and plays a relentless style, which is exactly what we need as a group.”
— Jared Staal (Savannah Ghost Pirates, 2025)

Motivated to Build More in Year Two

Granowicz returns with a clear goal in mind—helping Savannah reach new heights:

“I’m so excited to be back playing for the fans and the Savannah community. They cheer us on through the ups and the downs. They’re a community that you want to win for. That’s my mindset coming back here; we really want to make the playoffs and go on a run to give the fans something they haven’t experienced yet.”
— Nick Granowicz (Savannah Ghost Pirates, 2025)

He’s also focused on adding more offense to his game, saying:

“I want to generate more offense like I did down the stretch. This summer, I’m focusing on my shooting and stickhandling, certain areas of my game that can contribute more for the Ghost Pirates next year.”
— Nick Granowicz (Savannah Ghost Pirates, 2025)

From College Success to ECHL Impact

A Michigan native, Granowicz played collegiately at both UMass-Lowell and the University of Michigan, where he helped the Wolverines win two conference titles. In 101 NCAA games, he totaled 17 goals and 19 assists for 36 points.

He first joined Savannah at the tail end of the 2023–24 season, scoring three goals in just five games. A strong debut that hinted at the potential he’d showcase in the year ahead.

Looking Ahead

Granowicz is expected to be a key contributor again for Savannah. With his strong two-way play, growing offensive confidence, and relentless effort, the Ghost Pirates are getting back a player committed to doing whatever it takes to help the team succeed. Expect Granowicz to play a key role next season—he’s clearly putting in the work this offseason.

The Savannah Ghost Pirates will open their 2025–26 season at home on Friday, October 17, when they host the Norfolk Admirals at Enmarket Arena. Puck drops at 7:00 PM EDT.
