The Toledo Walleye have announced the return of forward Nolan Moyle for the 2025–26 ECHL season. The 26-year-old right-shot center brings size, leadership, and international experience back to the Walleye lineup after splitting time last season between the ECHL and the KHL.
Veteran of Multiple Leagues
Moyle, a native of Briarcliff Manor, New York, rejoined Toledo late last season following a 12-game stint with Kunlun Red Star in the KHL, where he tallied one goal and one assist. Upon his return to the Walleye, he recorded 15 points (6G, 9A) in 32 regular-season games and added five assists during a deep playoff run that saw him appear in all 20 postseason contests.
Before turning pro, Moyle captained the University of Michigan during the 2022–23 season and spent five years with the Wolverines, compiling 46 points in 164 NCAA games. His college career was highlighted by a Big Ten championship and multiple leadership roles, including time as both captain and alternate captain.
Proven Two-Way Presence
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 198 pounds, Moyle plays a responsible 200-foot game. He originally made his mark with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL, putting up 45 points in 57 games during the 2017–18 season.
Since turning pro, his ability to transition between leagues and contribute on both ends of the ice has made him a valuable depth piece. His physical edge, combined with smart positioning and penalty kill capability, make him a trusted option for any situation. Moyle’s versatility as both a center and winger gives Toledo added flexibility up front.
Looking Ahead
As the Walleye gear up for another competitive campaign, Moyle’s familiarity with Head Coach Pat Mikesch’s system and his growing leadership resume could be vital. With ECHL, NCAA, and KHL experience under his belt, he’s well-positioned to be a stabilizing force in the locker room and on the ice.
