The Norfolk Admirals announced today that they have signed defenseman Josh McDougall to a Standard Player Contract for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
“I am super excited to be back with the Admirals for the upcoming season,” said McDougall. “I’m looking forward to playing in front of the electric fans at The Scope once again and building together as a group for a great season.”
McDougall, 25, was brought into the Admirals’ lineup on December 23, 2022, following a trade with the Wichita Thunder. His 2022-23 season began with the Indy Fuel, where he played 15 games, contributing three assists and achieving a plus-two rating.
Notably, McDougall marked his first goal with the Admirals on March 10 in an exciting 6-4 victory over the Maine Mariners. As the season went on, he continued to make an impact, playing in 42 games for Norfolk and accumulating a total of 10 points, featuring three goals and seven assists.
Jeff Carr, the Admirals’ General Manager and Head Coach, expressed his appreciation for McDougall’s progress, stating, “Josh came in on a trade last season, took a few weeks, and got better and better throughout the year. His greatest asset is being able to play heavy minutes on two and three-game weekends. He started injecting a little bit of offense near the end of the season with his puck possession.”
With McDougall back in the lineup, the Norfolk Admirals are getting ready for an exciting 2023-24 season, with his impressive skills and dedication adding a boost of energy. Fans can look forward to seeing his dynamic contributions on the ice as the team sets out on a journey towards a successful and competitive season.
