
The Norfolk Admirals will have some new faces on the bench next season as they’ve announced two new assistant coaches to Jeff Carr’s staff for the 2025-26 season. Steve Haddon and CJ D’Alimonte have both been named assistant coaches. They replace Brent Clarke, who has spent the last two seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Norfolk Admirals.
Steve Haddon Joins the Admirals Staff
Haddon, 41, heads out East after spending his entire coaching career in the state of Colorado. He spent the last two seasons as the head coach of the Colorado Grit in the NAHL. Prior to his time in the NAHL, he spent three seasons in the USHL Premier league as the Head Coach/GM of the Northern Colorado Eagles.
“I want to thank Jeff Carr and Patrick Cavanagh for this opportunity, as they have done a tremendous job on and off the ice to create a first-class organization,” said Haddon. “I look forward to working with the players and staff, as well as integrating myself into the local hockey community as we start the journey of bringing home a Kelly Cup to Norfolk.”

The Sarnia, Ontario, native played eight seasons with the Colorado Eagles when they were part of the CHL/ECHL. He would put up 98 goals and 135 assists for 234 points in 374 games. He would add 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points in 92 playoff games. Haddon was named to the ECHL All-Star Game in 2013.
C.J. D’Alimonte
D’Alimonte,29, will bring a ton of video experience to the Admirals. He’s spent the last five years in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, including the last three seasons in Pittsburgh as the Penguins’ assistant video coach.
“My fiancée and I are thrilled to be joining the Admirals family and the Hampton Roads community,” D’Alimonte said. “I’m incredibly grateful to Jeff Carr and Patrick Cavanagh for this opportunity. The direction this organization is heading is truly exciting. I look forward to working alongside the staff every day to build on the strong foundation already in place, with the ultimate goal of bringing a Kelly Cup to Norfolk.”

Prior to that, he spent two seasons as the video coach for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Before coaching at the pro ranks, he spent two seasons in the OHL and two seasons in USports as a video coach. The Toronto, Ontario native spent time as a goaltender but never played professionally.
