The Norfolk Admirals have announced that they’ve re-signed forward German Yavash for the 2025-26 season. In his rookie year, Yavash had six goals and three assists for nine points in 45 games. He played in three games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs and made his mark by fighting Trois-Rivières Lions captain Morgan Adams-Moisan in Game 5 of the North Division Finals. Yavash becomes the fifth forward and eighth player to sign with Norfolk for the 2025-26 season. He is the sixth returning member from last year’s Admirals team.

Yavash began his junior career in Belarus. In 2021, he won a Belarus Vysshaya Championship where he put up eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points in 23 games with Minskie Zubry. He also had a goal and an assist in 27 games with Dinamo-Molodechno in the top league in Belarus. Yavash would represent his country at the U-18 World Junior Championships in 2021.

“German came in with no college experience and earned the respect of the coaching staff, more importantly, the players,” said Jeff Carr, Admirals General Manager & Head Coach. “He is a player who is willing to get better each day and each rep. He left a positive mark on our team with his toughness and tenacity. We’re looking forward to him evolving as the premier power-forward of the ECHL.”

The Belarus forward made his North American debut during the 2021-22 season, playing in the USHL. Yavash would spend three seasons in the USHL, where he put up 27 goals and 24 assists for 51 points in 144 games with the Fargo Force and Lincoln Stars. He would have 100+ penalty minutes in each of his last two seasons in the USHL. During the 2023-24 season, he would lead the Stars with 100 PIMs.
