
The Norfolk Admirals have announced that they’ve re-signed defenseman Josh McDougall for the 2025-26 season. McDougall, 25, is coming off a career year where he had six goals and 39 assists for 45 points in 71 games. The 5’11, 190lb blueliner led the Admirals in ice time during the regular season. He had three assists in 11 games during the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan native finished first among Admiral defensemen in assists and finished second on the team in points behind Brady Fleurent. McDougall joins Carson Musser as the only two players currently signed for the 2025-26 season. Both McDougall and Musser wore a letter last season for the Admirals.
Josh McDougall is entering his fourth season with the Admirals, where he’s put up 12 goals and 63 assists for 75 points in 173 games. He’s added three goals and six assists for nine points in 23 Kelly Cup Playoff Games. McDougall would be named to the ECHL All-Star Game in 2023. Prior to joining the Admirals, McDougall played in five games with the Wichita Thunder at the end of the 2021-22 season and began the 2022-23 season with the Indy Fuel, where he had three assists in 19 games before being traded to Norfolk.

Prior to going pro, McDougall played four years at the NCAA level with Mercyhurst University. He would put up eight goals and 42 assists for 50 points in 130 games with the Lakers. In 2019, he was named to the AHA All-Rookie Team. McDougall would wear an “A” in his final two seasons at Mercyhurst.
