The Norfolk Admirals have signed rookie defenseman Brehdan Engum for the 2025-26 season. Engum, 25, had two assists in 30 games in his last year of NCAA eligibility with Boston University. However, he would miss the Playoffs as well as the Terriers’ National Championship bid. Norfolk now has five defenseman signed for the 2025-26 season. Norfolk is also bringing defenseman Ayodele Adeniye to camp on a tryout contract. The signing of Engum gives the Admirals another big shot blocking defenseman.
The Burnsville, Minnesota, native spent the first four years of his NCAA experience at U-Mass Lowell, including wearing an “A” in his second season with the Riverhawks. In 114 games, he put up three goals and 15 assists for 18 points before joining the Eagles. “Brehdan Engum has a big year ahead, coming off an injury which forced him to miss playoffs and BU’s national championship bid,” said Jeff Carr, Admirals General Manager & Head Coach. “He’s a simple defenseman that will be relied on using his size and presence early in the year.”
