ECHL: Norfolk Admirals Transactions | 10/22/2024

In their daily ECHL transactions post, the ECHL listed Norfolk Admirals goaltender Logan Neaton on waivers for the purpose of contract termination. Neaton first arrived on the Admirals’ roster during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs when he was signed to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) to be the backup to Oskari Salminen in the absence of Yaniv Perets. Over the summer, the Manitoba Moose signed the 25-year-old to a Tryout Agreement heading into training camp. He was released on Oct. 5, and the Admirals signed him to a one-year contract. Neaton spent the last five seasons in the NCAA with UMass Lowell and Miami University (Ohio), playing in 45 games while putting up a 5-16-1 with a 3.57 GAA and .891SV%. The Brighton, Michigan, was originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL Draft.

In another move, the Admirals have traded defenseman Andrew McLean to the Iowa Heartlanders for future considerations. McLean is in his fifth year in the league, putting up ten goals and 37 assists for 47 points in 122 ECHL Games with the Orlando Solar Bears and Norfolk Admirals. He’s added three assists during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The 29-year-old defenseman had one assist while playing in Norfolk’s first two games of the season.

The Admirals continue their season this weekend (Oct. 25-26) when they head to Portland, ME, to face North Division rivals, the Maine Mariners. Puck drops are scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 25 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 26.
