ECHL: North Division Weekly Recap | Week 4

With the season in full swing, the top of the North Division standings changed up, with Norfolk taking over the top spot, Wheeling Nailers in second, and Reading with a big drop to third in the standings. With more games being played over the next week, there will be more shifts and movement. Here’s how everyone faired over the past week:

Norfolk Admirals (6-2-3-0, 15 pts, 1st Place)- With this weekend, Norfolk has taken over the North Division. The Admirals currently have a .682 percentage with 11 games played. They concluded their four-game road trip, gaining six out of eight points. This upcoming week, the Admirals prepare to take on the Toledo Walleye.

Wheeling Nailers (5-3-1-0 11 pts, 2nd Place)— With a 5-2 win against the Cincinnati Cyclones and split games against Trois-Riviéres Lions, Wheeling finds themselves back in second place in the standings. They currently have a .611 percentage with nine games played. The Nailers are gaining help on the blue line with the recent re-assignment of Mats Lindgren from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Zach Alvarado’s Recap

Reading Royals (5-6-1-0, 11pts, 3rd Place)—The Reading Royals lost their top spot after a series of losses. This week, they played against Norfolk Admirals and Indy Fuel, winning only one game out of the three against the Indy Fuel. The Royals currently have a .458 percentage and 12 games played. The Royals gear up to take on a three-game series against the Adirondack Thunder.

Worcester Railers (5-4-0-0, 10 pts, 4th Place)- With two games against Norfolk and Maine this past weekend, Worcester gained 4 points in the standings. Captain Anthony Repaci came up big with five goals total, bringing home the wins for the team. The Railers currently hold a .556-point percentage and have played nine games.

Adirondack Thunder (4-1-0-1, 10 pts, 5th Place)- With two games this past weekend against Norfolk this past weekend and splitting the series with them, Adirondack finds themselves in fifth place with six games played and a .750 percentage. This weekend coming up, Adirondack faces the Reading Royals on home ice for a three-three.

Armand Klisivitch’s Recap

Trois-Rivieres Lions (4-3-1-0, 1pt, 7th Place) – Trois-Riviéres played a set of games against the Wheeling Nailers this past weekend and split the series against them. Trois-Riviéres has a .563 percentage and 8 games played. This upcoming week, they play against the Maine Mariners on Friday and the Worcester Railers on Saturday and Sunday.

Zach Alvarado’s Recap

Maine Mariners (3-5-0-0, 6 pt, 7th Place)—Maine remains in last place in the North Division standings. They only played one game this past weekend against the Worcester Railers and lost. This team is currently at a .375 percentage with eight games played. They have four games within the next week against Reading, Trois-Riviéres, and South Carolina.
