The Orlando Solar Bears have announced their official Season-Ending Roster for the 2024–25 ECHL campaign, finalizing a group of 20 players whose rights will be retained heading into the offseason. The list features a mix of seasoned veterans, promising rookies, and key midseason additions—some of whom arrived via future considerations trades due just days before the deadline.
2024–25 Season-Ending Roster
Forwards (11): Jack Adams, Anthony Bardaro, Kelly Bent, Tyler Bird, Tyler Burnie, Tyler Drevitch, Carson Focht, Cole Kodsi, Spencer Kersten, Brayden Low, Aaron Luchuk
Defensemen (7): Nick Anderson, Mark Auk, Logan Britt, Theo Calvas, Ben Carroll, Tony Follmer, Kris Myllari
Goaltenders (2): Jon Gillies, Alexis Gravel*
*Per the Orlando Solar Bears roster announcement, Gravel was placed on team suspension during the 2024–25 season (Orlando Solar Bears, 2025).
Roster Highlights
The Solar Bears’ scoring leaders are well-represented on this list. Spencer Kersten led the way offensively with 25 goals and 30 assists for 55 points in 60 games, including three shorthanded goals and a 0.92 points-per-game clip. Aaron Luchuk followed closely with 59 points (24G, 35 A), eight power-play tallies, and a team-high 192 shots on goal.
Jack Adams posted 44 points in 61 games, while Anthony Bardaro chipped in 41 points across 67 contests. Tyler Bird added 20 goals and four game-winners over a full 72-game season, while Brayden Low brought physicality with 32 points and 67 penalty minutes.
On defense, Kris Myllari led the blue line with 17 points in 55 games. Logan Britt, acquired from Reading as part of a future considerations trade, adds composure and mobility, while players like Tony Follmer and Nick Anderson provide a developmental upside.
Future Considerations Impact
Liam Devlin, Alex Frye, and Ryan O’Reilly were each previously listed on Orlando’s protected roster. Their omission from the season-ending roster is directly tied to recent future considerations deals: Devlin was sent to the Reading Royals, and O’Reilly to the Norfolk Admirals, completing the multi-team deal that brought Jack Adams to the Solar Bears. Frye was traded to Cincinnati to finalize the March agreement that landed goaltender Jon Gillies.
With those trades settled and a solid core retained, the Solar Bears head into the 2025–26 offseason with flexibility and depth.
Looking Ahead: Key Offseason Deadlines
The next significant deadline arrives on July 7 at 11:59 p.m. ET. ECHL teams can extend qualifying offers to up to eight players from their submitted list. No more than four of those eight may be veterans, defined by the league as having played 260 or more professional regular-season games by the start of the 2024–25 season (ECHL, 2025).
Players who sign before July 7 won’t need a qualifying offer. But for those who don’t, the offer must remain active through July 22. After that date, any qualified veteran or goaltender with over 180 regular-season games under their belt becomes a restricted free agent. At that stage, other ECHL teams can submit contract offers, but the player’s original team has seven days to match once they are notified (ECHL, 2025).
If no contract or offer is signed by August 8, the player’s status shifts to unrestricted free agent, and they’re free to sign anywhere without league restrictions.
