The NHL’s Department of Player’s Safety has suspended Ottawa Senators forward Parker Kelly two games for his actions in Wednesday’s game vs Los Angeles Kings. Kelly delivered an illegal check to the head of Kings defenseman Andreas Englund at 16:18 of the third period. This is Kelly’s first career suspension, as he will miss Saturday’s game at San Jose Sharks and Tuesday’s game vs Pittsburgh Penguins. The Alberta native is in his fourth year in the NHL, all of them coming with the Senators, as he’s put up 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points in 158 games. Prior to signing with the Senators, the Alberta native spent four seasons in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, where he put up 93 goals and 95 assists for 188 points in 273, as he would wear the “A” in his final two seasons and the Raiders would win the WHL Championship in 2019.
