Parker Gahagen of the Reading Royals has been honored as the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the period of October 18-20. Last week, Parker Gahagen had an impressive performance in net for the Reading Royals. Gahagen had stopped 19 shots in a 3-2 win against Trois-Rivières on Friday. He followed that performance up by making 22 saves in a 2-1 victory over Worcester on Sunday.
Parker Gahagen has had a distinguished career, earning the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week title multiple times. This marks the sixth time in his career that he has received this weekly recognition, placing him in a tie for the fifth most in ECHL history. Gahagen has played in both the ECHL and AHL, with experience on teams such as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, San Jose Barracuda, and Toronto Marlies. His career statistics showcase a solid goals-against average and save percentage, highlighting his reliability and skill as a goaltender.
Presently under contract with Lehigh Valley in the American Hockey League, Gahagen has participated in 116 ECHL games across various teams, including Newfoundland, Utah, Florida, Jacksonville, and Reading. He boasts a career record of 70 wins, 30 losses, and seven overtime losses, along with 11 shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.29, and a save percentage of .923. Additionally, he has played in 30 AHL games with San Jose, Toronto, Colorado, Milwaukee, and Lehigh Valley, achieving a record of 12-12-3, a goals-against average of 2.87, and a save percentage of .903.
Before turning professional, Parker Gahagen played college hockey at Army West Point. During his time there, he appeared in 110 games, achieving a record of 41-49-16 with a .926 save percentage, a 2.40 goals-against average, and 10 shutouts.
