ECHL: Peter Morgan Signs with Atlanta Gladiators

The Atlanta Gladiators have added a skilled and consistent scorer to their forward group, announcing the signing of Peter Morgan for the 2025–26 season. The Sarasota, Florida native will make his ECHL debut after a standout NCAA Division III career with SUNY-Geneseo.

NCAA Experience

Morgan, 25, played five collegiate seasons for SUNY-Geneseo, serving as team captain in his final year. The 5’6” right-shot forward tallied 37 points (15G, 22A) in 30 games during his senior campaign. Known for his vision, puck movement, and work ethic, Morgan wrapped up his NCAA career with 144 points in 110 games. He posted double-digit goals in four straight seasons and notched 43 points as a sophomore in 2021–22.

He also cited a standout NCAA memory:

“Probably my freshman year when we won our conference at home to a sold-out crowd. The experience was all so new to me…”, Morgan shared.

Junior Hockey Background

Before college, Morgan played in the NAHL with the Kenai River Brown Bears, where he recorded 44 points (17G, 27A) in 41 games during the 2019–20 season. He also spent time with the Aberdeen Wings and Amarillo Bulls before returning to Kenai River for a strong final playoff push in 2021.

What to Expect in Atlanta

Morgan brings speed, vision, and a strong playmaking touch to the Gladiators’ lineup. At just 5’6″, he uses his quick first step and high hockey IQ to create space and opportunities for teammates. When asked, Morgan indicated he is planning on working on both his speed and strength as he enters the ECHL, aiming to make a smooth transition to the pro level. His leadership background and consistent NCAA production suggest he’ll be a high-energy depth piece with upside as he adjusts to the pace of the league.

Opening Night

The Atlanta Gladiators open the 2025–26 ECHL season at home on Saturday, October 18th, taking on the Utah Grizzlies. Puck Drops: 7:00 PM EDT at Gas South Arena.
