ECHL: Rapid City Rush Announce 2024–25 Season-Ending Roster

The Rapid City Rush have announced their 2024-25 season-ending roster. The roster consists of 12 forwards, five defensemen, and two goaltenders.

Nathan Torchia, Christian Propp, Mitchell Smith, Billy Constantinou, Chase Pauls, Aaron Hyman, Brady Pouteau, Brett Davis, Jonathan Yantsis, Jack Jeffers, Parker Bowman, Ryan Wagner, Blake Bennett, Chaz Smedsrud, Maurizio Colella, Braeden Tuck, Jackson Leppard, Luke Mylymok, Garrett Klotz

Forwards

Blake Bennett – The 2024-25 season was Bennett’s third season in the ECHL and third season with the Rush. Bennett signed with the Rush in January after playing part of the season overseas. In 37 games with the Rush, Bennett had 27 goals and 25 assists for 52 points with 30 penalty minutes and a -1.

Parker Bowman – In his first full season with the Rush, Bowman played in all 72 regular season games for the Rush where he had seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points with 91 penalty minutes and a -11.

Maurizio Colella – Playing in his second season with the Rush, Colella dressed for 70 games in the 2024-25 season where he had ten goals and 26 assists for 36 points with 50 penalty minutes and a -19.

Brett Davis – In his second ECHL season, Davis started the season with the Rush, playing in 33 games where he had 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points with six penalty minutes and a -12. Davis was called up to the Calgary Wranglers where he finished his season, playing in 23 games where he had three goals and two assists for five points with six penalty minutes and a -3.

Jack Jeffers – Jeffers spent his third season in the ECHL playing for the Rapid City Rush. He played in 50 games where he had three goals and eight assists for 11 points with 20 penalty minutes and a -20.

Garrett Klotz – The 2024-25 season was Klotz’s seventh season in Rapid City. Klotz played in 17 games during the 2024-25 season where he had four assists with 62 penalty minutes.

Jackson Leppard – The Rapid City Rush acquired Jackson Leppard along with defenseman Chase Pauls in a trade with the Bloomington Bison in early January. In 34 games with the Rush, Leppard had one assist with 21 penalty minutes and a -12.

Luke Mylymok – The Rush signed Luke Mylymok in December after he decided to finish his collegiate career early to sign professionally. In 45 games with the Rush, he had 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points with 17 penalty minutes.

Chaz Smedsrud – The Rapid City Rush acquired Chaz Smedsrud in a trade with the Allen Americans in late October. In 68 games with Rapid City Smedsrud had 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points with 14 penalty minutes and a -15.

Braeden Tuck – Braeden Tuck spent his rookie season playing with the Rush where he skated in 59 games, registering four goals and five assists for nine points with two penalty minutes and a -14.

Ryan Wagner – Ryan Wagner captained the Rush in his first season with the team and led the team in goals, assists, and points. Wagner played in all 72 games where he had 29 goals and 50 assists for 79 points with 47 penalty minutes and a -3.

Jonathan Yantsis – The 2024-25 season was Yantsis’ first full season in the ECHL and was signed by the Rush after being waived by the Trois-Rivieres Lions. In nine games with the Rush, Yantsis had two goals and one assist for three points with two penalty minutes and a -6.

Defensemen

Billy Constantinou – The 2024-25 season was Constantinou’s fourth season in the ECHL and second season with the Rapid City Rush after being acquired in a trade from the Maine Mariners during the 2023-24 season. In the 2024-25 season with the Rush, Constantinou played in 71 games where he had 15 goals and 25 assists for 40 points with 38 penalty minutes and a -30.

Aaron Hyman – In his rookie season, Hyman played in 44 games with the Rush where he had two assists with nine penalty minutes and a -21.

Chase Pauls – Also playing in his rookie season, Pauls was acquired by the Rush in January through a trade with the Bloomington Bison. Playing in 36 games in a Rush jersey, Pauls registered three goals and nine assists for 12 points with six penalty minutes and a +8.

Brady Pouteau – The 2024-25 season was Pouteau’s first professional season in North America. In 45 games with Rapid City, Pouteau had three goals and 12 assists for 15 points with 22 penalty minutes and a +10. Pouteau left the Rush in February to finish his season overseas with the Coventry Blaze but has yet to sign for the 2025-26 season.

Mitchell Smith – One of Rapid City’s many rookies, Smith was acquired in a trade with the Bloomington Bison in early February. Smith played in 27 games with the Rush where he had one goal and five assists for six points with six penalty minutes and a +1.

Goaltenders

Christian Propp – In Propp’s second season in the ECHL, Propp played in 16 games for the Rush for a total of 903 minutes on ice and a record of 5-6-3. Propp faced 497 shots where he had 446 saves and 51 goals against for a save percentage of .897 and 3.39 goals against average. Propp was injured and did not return during the season.

Nathan Torchia – Torchia joined Rapid City late in the season after finishing up his collegiate career at the University of Windsor. Torchia played in three games with the Rush where he had 132 minutes on ice and a record of 1-1-0. Torchia allowed nine goals while making 82 saves on 91 shots faced for 4.08 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.

What’s Next

With the Season‑Ending Roster finalized, the Rapid City Rush now shift into a pivotal stretch of the offseason. The first major deadline comes on July 7, when qualifying offers must be extended to a maximum of eight eligible players. For veterans—those with 260 or more professional games—the next key date is July 22, when qualifying offers expire at 11:59 p.m. ET. If unsigned by then, they become restricted free agents, giving other teams the chance to make offers the Rush can choose to match within seven days. Any player still unsigned by August 8 becomes an unrestricted free agent. With decisions looming and roster spots to fill, the next few weeks will shape the foundation for Rapid City’s 2025–26 season.
