ECHL: Rapid City Rush Complete 2023-24 Season Future Consideration

Allen Americans/ECHL

The Future Considerations deadline for the 2023-24 ECHL season was June 20 at 1 pm MST. The Rapid City Rush were not extremely active but they did receive the rights to one player.

The Rapid City Rush acquired the rights to forward Jordan-Ty Fournier from the Allen Americans to complete the future consideration trade that saw the Americans receive forward James Hardie.

James Hardie

When James Hardie was with the Rush, he played in 43 games where he had ten goals and four assists for 14 points. He had eight penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -11. After leaving the Rush and joining the Americans, Hardie played in 12 games, where he had four goals and six assists for ten points. He had two penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -1.

Jordan-Ty Fournier

Jordan-Ty Fournier played the entire season with the Allen Americans. He played in 49 games, where he had eight goals and nine assists for 17 points. He had 74 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -4.

Thoughts on This Trade (Opinion)

I think this trade could really pay off for the Rush if Fournier signs with the Rush for the 2024-25 season. Neither Hardie(.436 points per game) nor Fournier(.347 points per game) were huge point producers for their teams in the 2023-24 season. But Fournier could bring a physical aspect that the Rush were missing in the 2023-24 season, which could really help the team in the 2024-25 campaign. Fournier is also a little better on defense, as he had only a -4 on the season compared to Hardie’s -12. Fournier also just completed his rookie season so now that he has adjusted to playing at the professional level, we could see him have an even better season in 2024-25 than he did this last season.
