The Rapid City Rush have announced that they have signed forward Jack Jeffers from Oakville, Ontario.

Collegiate Career

Jack Jeffers started his collegiate career in the 2018-19 season playing Division I hockey. Jeffers spent two seasons at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and then spent three seasons at Lake Superior State University. In his five collegiate seasons, Jeffers played in 135 games where he had 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points. He had 129 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -43. Jeffers and Lake Superior State were the WCHA Champions in the 2020-21 season, and Jeffers was an assistant captain at Lake Superior State during the 2022-23 season.

Professional Career

After completing his collegiate career, Jeffers signed in the ECHL with the Savannah Ghost Pirates to complete his 2022-23 season. In the 2023-24 season, Jeffers split his time between the Cincinnati Cyclones and Adirondack Thunder. In his three ECHL seasons, Jeffers has played in 39 games where he had three goals and six assists for nine points. He had six penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -11.
Jeffers finished his 2023-24 season overseas playing in Finland for FPS in Mestis. In seven games, Jeffers had two goals and five assists for seven points. He had two penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -1.

Jack Jeffers should be a pretty good addition for the Rush. He is not the biggest player, but he is not afraid to use his speed to crash the net. He is able to pick up rebounds in front of the net to score and can really shoot the puck well from the face off circles and the blue line.

The 2024-25 season will be Jeffers’ first season with the Rush and third season playing professional hockey.
