ECHL: Rapid City Rush Transaction | 12/4/2024

The Rapid City Rush have made a few roster moves before their series with the South Carolina Stingrays.

The Rapid City Rush have announced that defenseman Charles Martin and forward Trevor Janicke have been called up to the Calgary Wrangler in the AHL.

In 18 games with the Rush this season, Martin has seven assists with 14 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -7. Martin spent the 2023-24 season with the Rush before signing a two-way AHL/ECHL contract with the Calgary Wranglers for the 2024-25 season. In 79 career ECHL games, Martin has four goals and 36 assists for 40 points with 46 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +2.

Trevor Janicke has also played in 18 games with the Rush where he has added six goals and four assists for ten points with ten penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -5. Trevor Janicke is in his rookie season after playing collegiately at the University of Notre Dame. Janicke was tied for most goals on the Rush and was fourth in points prior to his callup.

The Rush announced that they have received forward Dustin Manz from the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for cash considerations. Manz played in five games with the Nailers this season where he had one goal and one assist with a plus/minus of +1. Manz has played in a total of 11 ECHL games, all of which have been with the Nailers. He had three goals and one assist with two penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -1.

Prior to his professional career, Manz spent 2019-22 at Lake Superior State University and then spent the 2022-24 seasons at American International College (AIC). In his three seasons at Lake Superior, Manz played in 103 games where he had 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points with 38 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -16. At AIC, Manz played in 78 games where he had 17 goals and 38 assists for 55 points with 45 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -1. Manz and Lake Superior were the WCHA Champions in the 2020-21 season and Manz wore the “A” for Lake Superior in the 2021-22 season.

The Rush also activated forward Simon Boyko and goaltender Matt Radomsky from reserve. They activated defenseman Matt Araujo from 14-day injured reserve and placed goaltender Christian Propp on reserve.

The Rapid City Rush are in action December 6, 7, and 8, traveling to South Carolina to take on the South Carolina Stingrays. Puck drop will be at 5:05 pm MT on Friday, December 6th, and Saturday, December 7th. Sunday’s puck drop will be at 1:05 pm MT.

The last time these two teams met was in Rapid City for a three-game series from February 25-27, 2017.
