ECHL: Rapid City Rush Transactions | 11/11/2024

The Rapid City Rush have announced that they have traded 5’10” forward Mason McCarty to the Cincinnati Cyclones in exchange for 6’0″ forward Patrick Bajkov. The Rapid City Rush also announced that they have released forward Joe Widmar.

Mason McCarty’s professional career started in 2018-19 with the Rapid City Rush playing in 15 games. He had six goals and four assists for ten points. McCarty then played in USports for a few seasons before going back to the ECHL. In his three ECHL seasons, McCarty has played in 83 games where he has 23 goals and 21 assists for 44 points. He has 60 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -7. This season, McCarty has participated in nine games with the Rush, during which he recorded one goal and one assist, resulting in a plus/minus of -5.

Patrick Bajkov has been in the ECHL for five seasons and has spent parts of two seasons in the AHL. Bajkov has spent the last two seasons overseas playing in Sweden, Slovakia, and Great Britain. In his eight games this season with the Cincinnati Cyclones, Bajkov had one assist and a plus/minus of -3. Bajkov has played in 229 games where he has 66 goals and 101 assists for a total of167 points. He has 62 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of -12.

Rapid City forward Joe Widmar was released after playing in seven games. Widmar did not have any points or penalty minutes and had a plus/minus of -2. Widmar is now available for other teams to claim.
