ECHL: Reading Royals: Canisius University Defenseman Re-Signs With Reading

On Monday July 22nd, 2024, Reading Royals have announced that they have re-signed Defenseman Powell Connor for his first full professional season.

Connor signed a PTO at the end of the 2023-2024 season with Reading and played in 12 games. He posted one goal and three assists in the span of those 12 games.

During his college career, Connor played at Michigan State University for three seasons and one season at Canisius University. During Connor’s time at Michigan State University, he played in 49 games. In the span of those 49 games, he posted no goals, but did post one assist. Connor went to Canisius for his last year of college and played in 35 games. He tallied one goal with six assists.

Prior to playing with Michigan State University and Canisius University, Connor played in the BCHL for Chilliwack Chiefs and Trail Smoke Eaters. In his final year in the BCHL, he served the “A” for the Trail Smoke Eaters. Connor played in 118 games for the Chilliwack Chiefs and posted six goals with 35 assists. When Connor played for Trail Smoke Eaters, he played in 83 games and tallied seven goals with 27 assists.
