ECHL: Reading Royals Complete Future Considerations

It’s the first of a few important upcoming dates for the ECHL and teams are starting to complete trades from the past season called Future Considerations. The Reading Royals have announced their list. Royals will receive one player and deal three players

Receiving:

Grant Hebert:

Reading Royals will receive forward Grant Hebert from Allen Americans. This completes the trade that sent Solag Bakich to the Americans on November 10th, 2023.

Hebert played his first full season in the ECHL in the 2023-2024 season and dressed in 43 games. He tallied 10 goals and 10 assists. He played in five post-season games for the Americans and notched four assists.

Dealing:

Jake Smith:

Smith will be dealt to the Orlando Solar Bears and complete the trade that brought forward Brayden Guy’s playing rights to Reading on November 26th, 2023.

Smith was acquired from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Smith made himself a valuable player on the ice for the Royals in his time during the 2023-2024 season. Between both Greenville and Reading, Smith dressed in 60 games and notched 19 goals with 17 assists.

Ryan Cox:

Cox will be dealt to the Kalamazoo Wings and complete the trade that brought Defenseman Kurt Gosselin to Reading on January 15th, 2024.

Cox was acquired from the Orlando Solar Bears and proved why he was an asset on the ice. During the 2023-2024 season, Cox played in a total of 58 games between Orlando and Reading. Cox tallied 14 goals with 12 assists between both teams.

Tyson Fawcett:

Fawcett will be dealt to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and complete the trade that brought Jake Smith to Reading on February 20th, 2024.

Fawcett came back to the ECHL after 4 seasons in the EIHL. He is one of the only Royals players to have dressed in all 72 games. Fawcett notched 11 goals with 15 assists and served as Alternate Captain for the entirety of the season. Fawcett also saw a milestone of his 100th professional career goal in his 504th professional career game against the Wheeling Nailers on January 27th, 2024.
