ECHL: Reading Royals Release 24-25 Promotional Schedule

As the new hockey season is approaching, teams are starting to release their promotional schedules. On Tuesday, September 3rd, the Reading Royals released their 2024-2025 promotional schedule.

All 36 regular season home games will feature a promotion during the season. Teddy Bear Toss, Pucks and Paws, and the 2023-2024 sold-out Pink in the Rink returns. There will be some new promotional games such as Pucks N Pancakes, Christmas with the Peanuts, and Mardi Gras.

October:

  • Opening Night – Oct. 26 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Wheeling
    • Pregame Block Party on Penn St. (3 – 6 PM)
    • Post-Game Firework Show
    • Slapshot Saturday 
    • The giveaway for opening night will be an Opening Night L.E.D. rally towel
  • Halloween Game – Oct. 27 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Wheeling
    • Fans can come in Halloween costumes for Spooky season
    • There will be Trick-or-Treating on the concourse
    • Fans can enjoy a Pumpkin painting station
    • There will be a Halloween costume contest that fans who attend the game can enter
    • Players will be wearing the Peanuts Collection Halloween specialty jersey

November:

  • Wild Wednesday – Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • $6.10 Orange Zone tickets
    • Students can buy BOGO tickets. Tickets must be claimed at the box office and students must show valid college ID of .edu email
  • Oktoberfest – Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Indy Fuel
  • Brats & Swifties Night – Nov. 10 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Indy Fuel
    • Fans can sing their heart out to the hits of ‘Brat Summer’ including the likes of Taylor Swift, Charlie XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan
    • There will be a Friendship bracelet-making station where fans can make and trade bracelets
  • Reading Railroad Night – Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • Fans who attend the game can enjoy Monopoly-themed in-game elements
  • Steamboat Willie Night – Nov. 23 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Maine Mariners

December:

  • Military Appreciation / Teddy Bear Toss Night – Dec. 7 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Adirondack Thunder
    • Reading Royals will salute armed forces throughout the night
    • After the first goal is scored, (Fun fact: Last season it was returner forward Shane Sellar to make the teddy bears fly) Fans will be able to toss their teddy bears and stuffed animals onto the ice after the Royals’ first goal is scored against the Thunder.
    • Players will be wearing the Military Appreciation specialty jersey
    • Slapshot Saturday presented by Albright College
    • Kids will have a chance to snag a purple camo kids’ jersey as the giveaway
  • Wizards Night – Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Wheeling Nailers
    • Wizards Aficionados: Dress in your best wizards gear for this game!
    • House Cup Tournament Challenge
  • Slapshot Snowy Sleuth – Dec. 20 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Adirondack Thunder
    • Slapshot will be playing investigator through the night to solve a mystery that happened.
  • New Year’s Eve Eve Eve Eve Eve / Pajama Party – Dec. 27 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Worcester Railers
    • Royals are bringing the Pajamas out for this game and having a New Years Eve…eve, eve, eve, eve party.
    • Fans will be able to attend a special New Year’s celebration balloon drop

JANUARY:

  • Fans Pick the Music Night – Jan. 10 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Trois-Rivières Lions
    • Fans will be able to choose the playlist of the game for the first game of the new year
  • Star Wars Night – Jan. 11 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Trois-Rivières Lions
    • Chewbacca, Darth Maul, and others from the Star Wars world will be joining the Royals.
    • Appearances from Star Wars characters
    • Players will be wearing Star Wars specialty jersey
    • Slapshot Saturday 
  • Pucks N Pancakes – Jan. 12 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Trois-Rivières Lions
    • Fans will be able to purchase a specialty ticket package and enjoy a pre-game brunch.
  • Big Richard Night – Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Jacksonville Icemen
    • Free admission to individuals named Richard, Rich, Rick, Ricky, Ricardo, Dick. Fans must show drivers license or another proper form of identification at box office for the free admission to the game.
    • Small check presentation
  • Flyers Affiliation Night – Jan. 18 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Jacksonville Icemen
    • The Royals will be celebrating their affiliation with the Philadelphia Flyers on this night
    • Gritty will make an appearance
    • Players will be wearing the Flyers Affiliation specialty jersey
    • Slapshot Saturday 
    • Fans will be able to snag an Orange fleece hockey helmet as a giveaway
  • MLK Day – Jan. 20 at 1:00 p.m. vs. Jacksonville Icemen
    • Fans will be able to purchase a specialty ticket package and enjoy a pre-game brunch.
    • Kids, 14 and under, will be admitted free into the game, with the purchase of an adult ticket.
    • Fans will be able to grab a Slapshot mini plush pillow as the giveaway

February:

  • Mardi Gras – Feb. 1 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Adirondack Thunder
    • The Royals will be throwing a Mardi Gras celebration
    • Slapshot Saturday 
  • Undie Sundie / Grandma Beauty Pageant  – Feb. 2 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Adirondack Thunder
    • After the first Royals goal is scored against the Thunder, fans will be able to toss newly packaged underwear, socks, t-shirts, sports bras and undergarments onto the ice after the Royals first goal. Last season, Forward Joseph Nardi was the one to make the undies fly. These donations go towards local clothing shelters in Berks County.
    • All the Grandma’s are welcome to participate in a beauty pageant
  • Education Day Game – Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • Calling all students, you will be able to come to a hockey game with your class!
    • $15 hot dog, soda and ticket deal for students
    • Free school bus parking

  • Pink in the Rink / Women in Sports / Valentines Day  – Feb. 15 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • During the first intermission, breast cancer survivors will be able to take a charity shot and receive on-ice recognition.
    • Prior to the game, there will be a panel honoring Women in Sports.
    • Players will be wearing Pink in the Rink specialty jersey
    • Slapshot Saturday 
    • This night will also feature Healthcare Workers Appreciation Night. Healthcare workers are able to gain a free ticket with the purchase of an additional ticket.
    • Fans will be able to pick up a pink wine tumbler as the giveaway
  • Wild Wednesday / Pride Night – Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Maine Mariners
    • Celebrate Reading’s LGBTQ+ culture during Pride Night

  • Reading Red Knights / La Noche de Los Royales – Feb. 28 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Maine Mariners
    • The Royals will rebrand as the Reading Red Knights to honor the Reading School District
    • Players will wear the Reading Red Knights specialty jersey

MARCH:

  • Superhero Night / Battle of the Badges – Mar. 1 vs. Maine Mariners
    • Law Enforcement and Firefighters will play their Annual game of Battle of the Badges prior to the game starting.
    • First Responders are able to gain discounted tickets
    • There will be Superhero appearances throughout the night
    • Players will be wearing the Superhero specialty jersey
    • Fans will be able to snatch a cross body bag as a giveaway
  • Wild Wednesday – Mar. 5 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Adirondack Thunder
    • $6.10 Orange Zone tickets
    • Students can buy BOGO tickets. Tickets must be claimed at the box office and students must show valid college ID of .edu email
  • Career Ready Berks Night / Kids Takeover – Mar. 14 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Trois-Rivières Lions
    • Bring your resume to the game with you! Local businesses will be on the concourse throughout the night and fans can engage with them.
    • Kids ages 7-14 years old can apply for select professional positions to take part in during the night
  • St. Hat-Trick’s Day – Mar. 15 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Trois-Rivières Lions
    • There will be the St. Hat- Tricks $10,000 giveaway challenge
    • Players will wear the St. Patrick’s specialty jersey
    • Teachers are the backbone and important to the kids. Teachers are able to gain one free ticket for Teacher Appreciation Night, with the purchase of additional tickets.
    • Slapshot Saturday 
    • Fans will be able to get a green reversible bucket hat as a giveaway
  • Tattoo Night – Mar. 21 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • Fans will be able to have the opportunity to get a tattoo at a Royals game
  • Pretzel City Royals Night – Mar. 22 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • Reading Royal will rebrand as Pretzel City Royals for one night
    • Players will be wearing Pretzel City Royals specialty jersey

  • Pucks & Paws / Dog Toy Toss – Mar. 23 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Norfolk Admirals
    • All the furry friends are able to attend this game!
    • Fans will be able to toss dog toys onto the ice after the Royals’ first goal
    • Meet local dog shelters and sanctuaries for opportunities to adopt a dog
    • Intermission dog race
  • Class of 2025 Night – Mar. 28 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Maine Mariners
    • Join the Royals in celebration for the graduating class of 2025
    • Free ticket to all 2025 high school and college graduates (claim at box office with valid high school/college ID or .edu email)
  • Stick it to Cancer Night / Slapshot’s Birthday / Mascot Mania – Mar. 29 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Maine Mariners

April:

  • Wall of Honor Night – Apr. 11 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Worcester Railers
    • Wall of Honor pre-game induction ceremony will take place prior to the game
  • Fandemonium / Mental Health and Recovery Night – Apr. 12 vs. Worcester Railers
    • Fans will be able to meet and speak with Mental Health and Recovery organizations on the concourse
    • Giveaways galore with prizes at every stoppage
    • Slapshot Saturday 
    • Royals365 Season Member ‘Jersey Off Our Backs’ Raffle will take place at the end of the game
