ECHL: Reading Royals Sign Their First Newcomer

The Reading Royals have made their first new addition to the 2023-24 roster, who happens to be the brother of Maine Mariner’s forward, Nick Master.

Austin Master, younger brother of Nick Master, is the first newcomer to be signed to the Reading Royals following a re-signing of forward Brendan Hoffmann. Hoffmann was the first to re-sign to the Royals and the first to be added to the 2023-24 roster. Master will be joining Hoffmann as another forward making the Royals’ forward count at two with plenty of time before October’s opening night rolls along. Master has spent his last four years playing for Stevenson University, with his latest season sporting the captain’s “C” on his jersey. He played a total of 74 games with Stevenson, racking in a total of 87 points throughout his four seasons.

Royals fans should be excited to have this Pennsylvania native on their team as he isn’t a newcomer in terms of the Royals’ affiliate, the Philadelphia Flyers. While at La Salle College High, Master played for the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers before joining the Jersey Hitmen in the 2017-18 season. He stayed with the Hitmen for two seasons before attending Stevenson University, where his talent shined through his vigorous four years as a forward. Now this Broomall, Pennsylvania native will be keeping himself local this upcoming season as he trades his college jersey for the iconic Royals’ purple. With the season still, a long way away, this is surely only the first of many new faces joining the Royals this year.
