The Reading Royals have added a big piece to their blueline with the signing of defenseman Vincent Sévigny. In 49 games with the Trois-Rivières Lions, he put up four goals and 15 assists for 19 points. He would add two goals and five assists for seven points in 18 games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Sévigny should be a top-pairing defenseman for the Royals come opening night. He becomes the fifth defenseman and 14th player to sign with Reading for the 2025-26 season.
Sévigny, 24, began his career in the AHL with the Bridgeport Islanders. In 86 games with the Islanders, he put up six goals and 16 assists for 22 points. He also saw five games with the Laval Rocket last season.
“We are beyond excited that Vincent chose to be a Reading Royal, he has great pedigree,” stated Anthony Peters, Head Coach & General Manager. “He played a large role on his team that won the ECHL championship last year, he won a championship in junior hockey as well. He is big, he skates well and is one of the best defenders in the league. We look forward to seeing his game continue to grow here as a Royal.”
