ECHL: Reid Duke Signs with Florida Everblades

The Florida Everblades have agreed to terms with veteran forward Reid Duke for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Duke, 29, arrives in Estero with a decade of professional experience, bringing a blend of skill, leadership, and playoff pedigree to the Everblades’ forward group. This season will mark his first stint in the ECHL, adding a new chapter to his pro career.

A Look at Duke’s Career

The Calgary native has spent time across multiple leagues in North America and Europe, carving out a career known for versatility and consistency.

Duke began his professional career in the AHL, suiting up for the Chicago Wolves from 2017 to 2020 before moving to the Henderson Silver Knights. Across five AHL seasons, he totaled 49 points (25G, 24A) in 159 games, adding 56 penalty minutes.

In 2022-23, Duke took his talents overseas, splitting the season between HC Slovan Bratislava and HK Nitra in Slovakia. He was part of Bratislava’s Continental Cup-winning roster, adding international hardware to his resume.

Duke followed that season with a strong campaign in Germany’s DEL2, scoring 43 points (23G, 20A) in 41 games for Starbulls Rosenheim. Duke also appeared in relegation play, scoring three points in a single game.

Most recently, he skated for the Cardiff Devils in the EIHL during the 2024-25 season, finishing with seven goals and 16 assists in 32 games. He helped Cardiff capture the 2025 Continental Cup, marking the second time in his career he has won the prestigious European trophy.

A WHL Champion Before the Pros

Before turning pro, Duke spent five seasons in the WHL with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Brandon Wheat Kings. He won the 2016 WHL Championship with Brandon and was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round of the 2014 NHL Draft.

What He Brings to the Everblades

Duke’s signing gives the Everblades a veteran presence who can contribute offensively while bringing championship experience to the locker room. His history of playing in high-pressure situations and his ability to adapt to different styles of hockey make him a valuable asset for Florida heading into the 2025-26 campaign.
