
The Worcester Railers have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Riley Ginnell for the 2025-26 season. Ginnell, 22, began last season with the Allen Americans, where he put up a goal and an assist in 18 games before being traded to Worcester. In 33 games with the Railers, he put up five goals and five assists for 10 points. Ginnell is the 14th forward and 19th player to sign with Worcester for the 2025-26 season.
The Calgary, Alberta, native made his ECHL debut during the 2023-24 season with the Rapid City Rush. In his rookie season, he put up three goals and four assists for seven points in 45 games with the Rush. It took Ginnell 18 games to get his first pro point, but he would end up picking up his first two points in back-to-back games.
“I want to take off and have a big breakout year,” Ginnell said. “This is the coach and the team that will help me do that best.”

Prior to going pro, Ginnell spent four seasons in the WHL, primarily with the Brandon Wheat Kings. In 113 games with the Wheat Kings, he put up 21 goals and 26 assists for 47 points. He would add a goal and an assist in six games during the 2022 WHL Playoffs. During his final season in the WHL, he also saw 14 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors, putting up a goal and two assists for three points, along with 36 games with the Regina Pats, where he had nine goals and seven assists for 16 points. Ginnell had a goal and five assists for six points during the 2023 WHL Playoffs with the Pats. During his time in Regina, he played alongside Connor Bedard.
