ECHL Roster Transactions: Bloomington Bison | 12/03/2024

The Bloomington Bison announced that the team has acquired forward Josh Boyer from the Atlanta Gladiators in exchange for future considerations.

During the 2024-25 regular season with Atlanta, Josh Boyer, originating from Wasilla, Alaska, participated in 11 games but did not score any goals or assists, maintaining a neutral plus/minus rating and accumulating four penalty minutes. In the previous 2023-24 season, he played eight games with Atlanta, scoring one goal and one assist, with a minus-two rating and two penalty minutes. Overall, across both seasons, Boyer has played 19 games, scored one goal and one assist, with a minus-two rating and six penalty minutes.

During his junior career, Boyer played for the Brookings Blizzard in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and the Lincoln Stars in the United States Hockey League (USHL). As he transitioned to college hockey, Boyer enrolled at St. Lawrence University, competing in NCAA Division I. Recognized for his strong work ethic and well-rounded playing style, he honed his skills as a dependable forward at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he tallied five points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 36 games. He concluded his collegiate career at St. Lawrence University, amassing 24 points (11 goals, 13 assists) over 105 games. Boyer became known for his versatility on the ice, showcasing his ability to contribute effectively in both offensive and defensive roles.

The Bloomington Bison’s next game is on Friday, December 6th, 2024, against the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center. Puck drops at 7:15 PM EST (6:15 PM CST).
