For the second time this season, Ryan Fanti of the Orlando Solar Bears has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for his stellar performances from March 10-16.

The 25-year-old goaltender was dominant in net, posting a 2-0-0 record with a 0.95 goals-against average (GAA) and an impressive .967 save percentage (SV%) over two starts.

On Friday, Fanti stopped 34 shots in a commanding 4-1 victory over Jacksonville. Two days later, he made 24 saves in a 2-1 shootout win against Savannah, shutting down all three shootout attempts to secure the victory.

Strong Season with Orlando and Syracuse

Fanti is under contract with the Syracuse Crunch (AHL) and has been a key piece for the Solar Bears this season. In 36 games, he has recorded an 18-12-5 record, one shutout, a 2.69 GAA, and a .908 SV%. Additionally, he saw time with Syracuse, where he stopped all 17 shots faced in 44 minutes of action.

Career Highlights

A Thunder Bay, Ontario native, Fanti has built a solid ECHL career, appearing in 87 games with Orlando and Fort Wayne. He holds a 42-34-8 record, with three shutouts, a 3.02 GAA, and a .903 SV%. His AHL experience includes 10 games split between Syracuse and Bakersfield.

Before turning pro, Fanti had a standout collegiate career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he played 57 games, earning a 31-19-6 record, seven shutouts, a 2.01 GAA, and a .921 SV%.

Solar Bears History in Net

Fanti’s latest honor places him in elite company among Solar Bears goaltenders. He becomes just the third netminder in franchise history to win multiple ECHL Goaltender of the Week awards in a single season, joining Evan Fitzpatrick (twice, 2023-24) and Clint Windsor (three times, 2020-21, plus once in the 2021 Playoffs).
