ECHL: Ryan Smith Breaks Adirondack Thunder Shots on Goal Record

Andrew Fielder/InsideTheRink

Adirondack Thunder forward Ryan Smith has broken the franchise record for shots on goal previously held by Pete MacArthur (656).

” I didn’t know that, I’ll have to give Pete some crap, when you pass him in any offensive category you’re doing something right he was a good player, it’s pretty cool”

Ryan Smith on becoming the new franchise leader in shots on goals

Smith is in his fifth season with Adirondack and has scored 68 goals and added 87 assists for 155 points in 270 games; he spent the first three games of his pro career with the Tulsa Oilers. This record doesn’t come as a surprise, as the 27-year-old led the team with 262 shots on goal, which was also a new franchise record. The Roanoke, Virginia native was named the team’s co-MVP last season and the Fan Favorite. This isn’t the only record that Smith had a chance of breaking when the season began. He’s now just 26 goals away from tying the franchise record for goals (84), which Patrick Grasso currently holds.
